Using Solar Energy at Preston Montford
The sun has
finally come out, and Preston Montford is using some new rotary line dryers to
save energy.
We hope
that, along with our A rated energy saving washing machines and dryers, our new
washing lines will help us reach our energy saving target of 10% this year.
Each tumble
dryer load uses an energy-hungry 4kWh of electricity. With Preston Montford
using on average 822 kWh of electricity every day, 4 loads drying daily on the
line would reduce the Centre's total energy use by 2%. This single action is a small but significant step
towards our target and saves 7.2kg of carbon dioxide being released into the
atmosphere every day.
