Our staff cycled to work during bike week, 15-23 June. Collectively, 99.5 miles were
cycled which saved staff £44.78, burnt 4510 calories (2 days normal intake!)
AND saved 112.86 kg CO2 from being released into the atmosphere – that is
enough CO2 to fill 112 balloons, which is enough for a party!
Jess even took Sally Dog for her first cycle to work during the week.
Shropshire Council's Transport team donated cycle repair kits, lights and high viz goodies for participating staff. They have lots of info about cycling and other forms of sustainable transport on www.travelshropshire.co.uk Plus you can sign up to the Council's e-newsletter if you are interested
in hearing about cycling news and events in Shropshire.
