St Paul’s Church of England Combined
School were invited to see how often they could help the environment during their
recent trip to Preston Montford.
Staff at
Preston Montford were left impressed at how eco friendly St Paul's pupils were – with a
top score of 28 eco actions carried out by one of the pupils throughout their 3
day trip.
Everyone
excelled at remembering to turn lights off when they left a room and some
remarked how easy a 2 minute shower was. There was even a claim that a 1 minute
shower was possible...!
More water
was saved with pupils ensuring the taps were turned off so that they didn’t
drip. We hope this will help us at Preston Montford reduce our water use by 10%
this year.
Lunchtimes
showcased St Paul’s eco actions, with each pupil checking they had left no
litter after each of our picnics and bringing back fruit peelings to our
composting bins. We hope to use the compost to grow vegetables in our new
“Incredible Edible” garden.
We are
excited that our visitors are so eco aware and are looking forward to more
junior schools helping Preston Montford to be more environmentally friendly
this coming summer term.
